Here you will find a detailed description of the different options Nikon can provide in our service centers. Please note, if you find an option does not appear when registering your product for a service, then it is not applicable to your equipment.

Warranty repair
If you choose the warranty repair option, you are requesting us to repair your equipment to Nikon standard at no charge and under the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty.
In order to validate any warranty claim we need to receive valid supporting documentation (i.e. warranty card and proof of purchase), confirm the unit is still within its stated warranty period and inspect the equipment to ensure there is no evidence of damage or mis-use. If any of these conditions are not met then an estimate may be produced for the repair.

Technical Service Advisory
If you choose the technical service advisory option, you are requesting your unit is repaired under our advisory scheme at no charge. This option is only available for products which have a current service advisory advertised on our website. Where applicable, we will validate your serial number against our records to see if it is affected.
If your equipment is affected by the advisory but we find additional work is required to return it to Nikon standard, we may estimate a cost for the extra work.
If we receive your equipment and we find the serial number is not affected, or we find any damage or mis-use, we may estimate for a repair.

Authorise repair up to
The ‘Authorise repair up to’ option is our fastest service. The cost advertised is calculated from our historic repair data for the model type and the fault selected. The price shown includes VAT and the return shipping.
Upon inspection, we may find the repair is cheaper than originally calculated. If this is the case, we will charge the repair at the lower price. If we find the cost of the repair is greater, we will contact you to let you know our findings and ask how you would like to proceed.
If you then decide not to go ahead with the revised cost, there will be no refusal fee applied. We will only require payment for the cost of shipping your equipment back to you unrepaired (up to £9.92 Inc. VAT). -
Detailed quote for repair
This quote will provide you with a breakdown of what our technician feels the fault is and what they will undertake to return your equipment to Nikon standard.
If you accept the quote provided, we will proceed with the repair as described. If the quote is refused, payment for the estimate refusal and return shipping (up to £30 Inc. VAT) will be required before your equipment is returned to you unrepaired. -
Inspect product and provide an estimate for repair
By choosing this service, our fully trained technicians will examine your equipment and provide an estimated cost of repair.
We may find that during the repair certain work or parts are not required. If this is the case then you will be charged a lower price than originally calculated. If we find the cost of the repair is greater, we will contact you to let you know our findings and ask how you would like to proceed.
If the quote is refused, payment for the estimate refusal and return shipping (up to £30 Inc. VAT) will be required before your equipment is returned to you unrepaired. -
Service Exchange
If you are interested in taking advantage of our exchange offers, we can recycle your old equipment and provide you with a 20% off voucher code. This can be used to purchase any new product online through our Nikon store.
In order to claim this offer, you will need to send your equipment into us by using our pre-paid label option. The voucher will only be provided once we confirm receipt of your equipment. Please note, by choosing this option you are agreeing for Nikon to responsibly recycle your unit. -
Sensor clean
By choosing the ‘sensor clean only’ option, our fully trained technicians will check and clean your sensor at the stated price. This price also covers the cost of shipping the equipment back to you.
If we find anything other than dust or debris on the sensor (i.e. a scratch etc) we will be in contact with a revised cost of repair and we will ask how you wish to proceed. If you decide not to go ahead with the repair, we will clean the sensor and send back to you at the initial cost provided.
The sensor clean service comes with a 30 day warranty on the work carried out and there will be no service warranty on the equipment overall.
