Nikon D500
I’m looking forward to using the Nikon D500 more in the future. Its lightweight body is great for wildlife photography as it is very mobile, allowing you to carry it for long periods of time. Its quiet shutter mode and 4K video capabilities are also second to none.

Nikon D5
The Nikon D5 is my favourite camera. It delivers great image clarity and offers exceptionally wide coverage.
It’s important to blend in to the background when capturing wildlife photography. The Nikon D5 is perfect for this, due to its quiet shutter mode as well as the accuracy and speed of its autofocus, even in poor light.

NIKON D4
The Nikon D4 is still one of my go-to cameras when I’m not using the Nikon D5. I have a great history with the camera and it brings back fond memories of my work in Japan. The autofocus system is brilliant, especially when working in low light situations. Its wide ISO range also means that it produces clear and beautiful shots, in all conditions and can only be topped by the D5.
LENSES
I prefer to use long tele lenses, as it allows you to shoot from a distance without disturbing the wildlife. The NIKKOR 500mm and 600mm are two of my favourite lenses. They have a fantastic magnification which enables you to shoot your subjects in detail. I used these lenses when capturing white wolves in the Arctic.

AF-S NIKKOR 800MM F/5.6E FL ED VR
The NIKKOR 800mm lens is another one of my favourites to use. It is ideal for wildlife photography because it’s both lightweight and compact. In addition, the vibration reduction feature minimises the effect of camera shake – which is very important when working in the outdoors.
