Q&A

Why did you choose weddings as a career?
Sometimes, the smallest action can change your world.  For me, it was pressing the publish button on my very first blog post during one chilly day in March, back in 2011. Little did I know at the time, that the action would catapult me into the crazy world of weddings. Suddenly, I was juggling a demanding full-time job, a rapidly growing blog, and life as a newlywed.

Over the following years I worked tirelessly to establish the B.LOVED brand, growing my readership, and cultivating a talented, loyal network of fellow wedding industry professionals. In 2014, I finally took the plunge and gave up the day job that I had become so disenchanted by, and poured my heart and soul into the business and industry I had come to love so much.

Of all the weddings featured on your blog, which is your favourite?
Over the years I have fallen in love with all the real weddings featured on B.LOVED, but my favourite so far this year has to be Eduardo and Clareana’s British and Brazilian fusion wedding held in the grounds of Eduardo’s grandfather’s home, overlooking the South Downs. It combines traditional English elements with the party atmosphere of Brazil. Clareana’s contemporary wedding dress from British designer, Self Portrait, stole the show, while their open-sided sperry tent crammed with English roses, hydrangeas and peonies, created an outside dining experience. They flew in cake from Brazil for their guests to try, and gave them the full party experience on the dance floor until gone 1am.

How important do you think photography is to a wedding?
When the last slice of cake has been eaten, the final petal of the wedding bouquet has withered and the romance of the first kiss seems like a distant dream, photographs are what keeps the memories of a wedding day alive.  Receiving the images from your wedding day is almost as exciting as the day itself!  Reliving moments, seeing your wedding from a new perspective, seeing the love and laugher on your guests faces and appreciating all the tiny details you spent months so carefully choosing and creating captured so beautifully.  Photographs and albums are not only something you can look back on in the months and years ahead, but are a precious heirloom for future generations to learn about their past.
