NIKON RELEASES VERSION 1.1.0 OF SMARTPHONE APPLICATION NX MOBILEAIR
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 16th December 2022: Nikon is pleased to announce the release of Ver. 1.1.0 of NX MobileAir – a smartphone application that uploads images taken with Nikon digital cameras to an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server, without the need for a computer.
The update will see the addition of new functions such as an algorithm that uses deep learning to analyse images. This allows photographers to filter pictures by specific criteria, such as subject types and conditions – helping them to quickly find the image they want. The JPEG compression ratio and image size can now also be adjusted, when uploading to an FTP server, achieving faster uploads to improve workflow from shooting to delivery.
Further support for the import of NEF (RAW) images is now available, enabling previously supported JPEG and RAW files stored in camera or smart devices to be imported to albums in the NX MobileAir app. Other changes include additions to the settings of custom IPTC metadata presets, and a new function that prevents previously deleted images on the app to be re-imported. The app has also been made more user friendly with changes to operability and displays, including the way images are imported, as well as a function that synchronises the clocks of the camera and smart device.
Nikon will continue to provide updates for NX MobileAir to meet the needs of its users.
